Recommendations:

1) Upgrade to Samba 1.9.18p8 (1.9.18p8 has huge performance
improvements over previous versions of Samba because of the new
OpLocks).

2) Add this to you [global] section:

socket options = IPTOS_LOWDELAY TCP_NODELAY
