Help for "incorrect password"

I installed samba on Solaris 2.5.1 platform.  I did
not compiled it to support shadow passwords (It was
compiled for SunOs 4.1.3).  Now when I tried to get 
my home directory in Solaris platform from PC, the error 
message "The password is incorrect" was shown.  Can I
set some option in smb.conf file to use shadow 
passwords without recompiling samba?  Any help is
very appreciated.
