Samba with expired passwords

Using SAMBA to validate dasswords via the Windows 95 client: it is 
working well, only if a password is expired at the server end (SCO 
Unix), there is no notification at the client end. The existing password 
is accepted and the user can use the system.

Any ideas or suggestions to fix this?
