FYI:

I've used a Linux/Samba box to 'gateway' SMBFS. It looked like this:

       10MB Eth          28.8 PPP
macros <------> milamber <------> valheru
Win95           Linux             Linux

An I was able to read SMBFS on valheru from macros by setting up milamber
to mount valheru, and export that filesystem to macros.

Didn't bother to try with NFS...
