keyboard lock-up from domain logons

i have no idea at this point: i'm just prating about until something 
works.  preferably consistently.

ok, had another go.  i appear to have moved the problem from one machine 
to another.

AAAGH!

machine a) which was hanging on exit, and locking up its keyboard, 
appears not to be any more.  instead, machine b) is now intermittently 
displaying these symptoms, while machine a) is ok.

this is with the floppy disk version of w95, the first one that came out.
