Th --stat option which we currently do is the easiest means
I can think of.  For example:


  Summary of changes:
   source/smbd/msdfs.c |    2 +-
   1 files changed, 1 insertions(+), 1 deletions(-)


How is this any worse that the old SVN ^[ADM] type
commit messages?  But if metze or someone else has a
better way that keeps everyone happy, it's fine by me.
