If versions bumps should be allowed inside a 3.x branch - why leave an 
arbitrary bump space of 9? Some kind of subversion number would be 
nicer then in my opinion.

But I would like to see no version bumps at all inside of a 3.x 
branch, now that we have this new release sheme. 
Thas way everybody using 3rd party virus_scan_vfs_plugin_foo can be 
sure that it will still work with the next release of this 3.x 
branch.
