API call needed for WINS queries

Hello,

I search for a way to do WINS queries like DNS queries (with
gethostbyname()).

libsmbclient seems not to support such things.

Is there a WINS API available?


(I want to do WINS queries in an application _without_ specifing wins
servers and without running an external program like nmblookup. Because
samba already knows the wins server, samba should to the resolve. ;)
