I don't think it's a problem to have the panic action be run as root.
An admin who is concerned could simply disable panic action.
I just looked through the archives for your script but didn't find it...
did you already post it?
I'm planning to start debugging the printing problems in a23 this
afternoon and I imagine it would be helpful.
