NIS+ database problem while trying to use smbpasswd

I tried running the "cat smbpasswd | source/script/mknissmbpasswd.sh" script
but I'm running into a new problem. Even though I was able to successfully
create the "smbpasswd.org_dir" table, (used source/script/mknissmbpwdtbl.sh)
the mknissmbpasswd.sh failed, saying that it could not find the
smbpasswd.org_dir.<domain>. Is there something that I am still missing in
trying to get this to run correctly?
TIA,
Deborah
Here is partial output from the attempt to run the mknissmbpasswd.sh script
(before running it, I scripted so that I would have a log of the process)
(44 Ô": Not found.
./mknissmbpasswd.sh: smbpasswd.org_dir.asas.ast.lmco.com.: not found
pwdlset_t="º": Not found.
./mknissmbpasswd.sh: smbpasswd.org_dir.asas.ast.lmco.com.: not found
pwdlset_t="º": Not found.
./mknissmbpasswd.sh: smbpasswd.org_dir.asas.ast.lmco.com.: not found
pwdlset_t="¼^L¼¥öÒ": Not found.
I did the same (scripting) when I ran the first script (mknissmbpwdtbl.sh)
and it stipulates that the smbpasswd.org_dir was created. Doing a "nisgrep
-o smbpasswd.org_dir" displays a whole lot of info. here's a partial
listing:
