running perl script at the command prompt

We on the Samba lists have no idea.  Unless there's a hidden connection
between Perl and Samba that I haven't discovered yet.

PS: the actual answer is -- it depends entirely on your platform and
the details of your Perl installation.  And, often, on whether the
first line of your script invokes the right path.
