Samba and unix password sync

I'm using the latest cvs version of Samba 2.0 as of Monday, and I'm
running into a problem with the password sync. In my smb.conf file, if
i have:

passwd chat = *enter*old*password* <oldpassword>\n *enter*new*password*
%n\n *retype*new*password* %n\n *NIS*password*has*been*changed*

it works fine, until i change my password. But if I use this:

passwd chat = *enter*old*password* %o\n *enter*new*password* %n\n
*retype*new*password* %n\n *NIS*password*has*been*changed*

it doesn't send the old password at all. I've looked at the logs, and
this is what is has in log.mymachine

[2000/11/15 15:18:56, 100] smbd/chgpasswd.c:expect(233)
  expect: sending [
  ]

Nothing's getting sent across. Anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks ahead of time,
Chad
