Promoting/Demoting

Hello..

 I'm about to 'experiment' with Samba as PDC. Currently the NT Box is PDC.
 What I'd like to know is, if I set SAMBA as PDC, will the NT Box 
 automatically demote to BDC? [as it would if another NT was 'promoted'
 to PDC].
 
 Then, vice-versa, i.e. if I Re-promote the NT to PDC, what do I need to
 'do' to the Samba Box? Would 'just' re-configuring smb.conf be enough?
