The "Too many links" is because btrfs is a bit silly in the amount of
hard links it allows in the same directory. (The request made lately by
someone else to let rsync create a new file to link to in such cases
would be most welcome.)

If there's anything I can do, let me know. The tree being synced is
quite large, however:

Total file size: 119530232600 bytes
Total transferred file size: 1173483739 bytes
