Large file - match process taking days

The two servers are connected via T1 on one end, and 30MB Internet at the
other.  Based on the stats I'm looking at the T1 is only about 20% utilized.
The other end is not even close to fully utilized.  It would seem to me that
the data connection would be an issue when sending the literal data versus
the checksum.  Based on what I see in the logs it is taking forever to do
the checksum process.  Or am I misunderstanding the log?
