RSYNC with Double-byte

Just to clarify my position.

Back in April 12th 2005 I reported a problem with foreign letters in filenames.

See the Archive :

http://lists.samba.org/archive/rsync/2005-April/012176.html
For details.

Basically I found that Rsync would take a character like this : L

ie U+0141 Latin L with stroke through it and translate it to a plain ASCII L U+004C. (My email client doesn't support >7bit chars).

So no wonder it would claim the file was missing as it seems to me to be accessing the name, storing it incorrectly as a ASCII value and then when it uses it, it discovers it can't find the original name and no wonder if it's mangled it.
