error in socket IO (code 10)

Hello

I found this post by googling the error msg I had while trying to set 
rsync as a self update for fink. What I am trying to do is install a 
p2p called soulseek. It appears that to install this on a mac is rather 
tedious. I am by no means a computer expert but good at following 
instructions.

I am on a iMac g5  running 10.3.5
