rsync hanging at end of transfer

Pre1 seems to have problems if ftpd is touching the file.  Had an error
scroll off screen that basically looked like a file had disappeared from
under rsync (deleted after the file list was built).  This killed of
rsync.  I'll try to repeat to get the full details.
