Solved! With thanks to Michael Still who quietly pointed me at some ansible he had created for doing this very thing on x86. Mikal's ansible didn't contain the solution, but did make me think more carefully about what I had set up and how I should craft the settings in the prometheus config. So far, so good. -- MC
