[clug] outlook advice [SEC=PERSONAL]

Lotus Notes is used by quite a few professional organisations. Though I
haven't ever used it, in many respects it apparently does better. For
example linking file resources into the mix (not just email and
calendar). I hear a small business called "IBM" uses it a lot.

I'm hoping insular, monolithic groupware is a 1990's phenomenon we'll
think back to when collaborating on a standards based collaborative
network/mesh that has no artificial boundaries.

I thihnk Outlook does work quite well and am not surprised that it's
become so popular.

Subject: [clug] outlook advice

A colleague has been told by his executive office that:
"no professional organisation he knows of doesn't use Outlook"

I have been pondering a response that I could give this colleague to
offer forth. Anyone care to share how they might respond?

Anyone care to share what their professional organisation uses instead
of Outlook?

Any good surveys or reports available on the Web that could be used to
counter this assertion?

Cheers,

Bob Edwards.
