CLUG Programmers' Special Interest Group Meeting - 8th March 2007
=================================================================
Date: 8th March 2007 (Second Thursday of the month)
Time: 18:30 - 21:00 (or when it finishes)
Speaker: Andrew Tridgell
Abstract:
Making complex proprietary applications distribution
agnostic.
Tridge will be talking about a new project, currently
called 'noteshack', that allows IBM to run Lotus Notes
on any Linux distribution. He'll be discussing the
limitations of LD_LIBRARY_PATH, how to work around them,
how to intercept complex calls in a proprietary
application and modify them to suit a new distribution,
and how to work around application bugs without source
code.
Venue: Canberra City Pancake Parlour
Find platform 4 in the City Interchange (see map below)
and then look for the Pancake Parlour sandwich board.
At the bottom of the stairs, look for the PSIG sign on
the counter and a stuffed penguin in the indicated
direction.
