pdflush is for flushing out dirty buffers to disk. If however you have
little RAM and lots of swap it may indeed thrash for a little while while
doing this task.

If you are concerned abut the FBI pull out your network cable and turm off
your screen. (They can read your screen from sattilites nowdays :))
