If you have not played with LindowsOS then get an APC magazine and find CD 2
from the cover. It's an "out of the box" autorun version on CD. It was in
the mail yesterday, so on the newsagent stands in a few days.

The blurb says, "With a USB memory key and the full version of LindowsCD
4.0, you can enjoy a slick OS that goes wherever you do." [What about just
using floppies???!!!]

I found that it booted even on an old machine.

It was late at night by the time I got to play with it, and I've been
pulling some late/all-nighters for (post-grad) uni assignments this weekend
so the brain was fogging, too.

The next thing will be to experiment with the disk image can go onto a
Windows machine of my acquaintance to offer a boot-time option. I'm yet to
work out how it handles NOT being in the CD drive when I want to read
another CD.

Seems it comes with OpenOffice.org1.1 in there, too, so it's "good to go".

Anyway, worthwhile a look.

Peter
