I'm using Xinerama atm on a Matrox G400 Max, with my primary screen at
1600x1200 and the secondary at 1280x1024, and it works beautifully.

I'm using Enlightenment (sometimes Metacity) as the WM, and from what
I've seen, the apps don't need to do anything special - they just see a
bigger screen. All the magic is in the WM, so as long as thats Xinerama
aware (and I think the more popular ones would be) then you should be
fine.

If you want a copy of my XFree86.conf file, let me know and I'll post it
privately.
