Hello all,

It works!!

Acute embarassment prevents me from saying what was wrong, a big fundamental (ie stupid) mistake on my part. Could I say thank you to all those who took the time to reply to my requests. In particular, I would like to thank Rasjid, for illuminating some of the more obscure corners of firewalls.

Now the #%%$# power supply on my Linux box has packed up. Oh well...
