factor in pppoe frames and telstra ineptitude and your 51kB/s looks
like a reasonable rate.
and yes, the telstra cable users get closer to the advertised 64kB/s -
but in my suburb telstra adsl is the only option.
completely sucks, telstra also appear to have instituted a 'daily
downtime' policy. if there was any other broadband service available
in my area, i think i'd move.
